- Change of residence certificate issued by the French consulate showing that the owner has established primary residence in origin country for at least 12 months and in case of If less than 12 months abroad, shipment is subject to more duties and taxes
- Transfer certificate must be on employer letterhead with both date of employment and date of transfer.
- Transfer certificate must show proof of at least 12 months abroad / primary residence in origin country
- Proof of residence in France – such as last phone, electricity bill, or rental contract of last than 3 months
- Sales invoice clearly identifying items, date, year, and place of purchase.
- Used household goods are duty free if the owner’s primary residence will be in France.
- Authorization from French Customs is required prior to arrival if the payment of duties is required
- For countries outside Europe items are subject to VAT of 20% plus duties
- Customs clearance may take 3 to 4 days to clear
- For free entry and transfer of primary residence, the owner must have spent at least 12 months abroad
Documents Required For Motor Vehicles
- Original title certificate
- Import declaration
- Current vehicle registration
- Vehicle purchase invoice with taxes paid proof
- Customs duties for vehicle depends on country of origin
- All imported vehicles are subject to VAT
- On the vehicle getting through customs duties and taxes are paid
- Owner qualifies for duty and tax free entry if:
- He has spent more than 12 months abroad
- Transferring primary residence to France

Singapore to France move reviews
I have been highly satisfied by the moving services provided by Across International and their european partner Schmidt Relocations. We have had a very smooth moving experience with very responsive and reliable services provided. A box was missing at the first delivery, but was immediately located based on the details provided, and delivered by post a few days later. We are very happy to have got all our belongings back on the other side of the world despite the current difficult situation.
