  • Sea / air shipments with diplomatic status are exempt from Customs inspections
  • Cultural inspections done for all shipments with processing time 3-4 days.
  • Inspection may include, but not limited to, books, art works, DVDs, CDs, antiques
  • All documents should be signed and stamped by the owners of the goods’ registered local employer in Vietnam.
  • Antiques shipped into Vietnam should be well documented and clearly photographed

Documents Required For Motor Vehicles

Owners of the goods cannot bring / import any type of vehicle into Vietnam unless they are working for UN organization / Embassy / Consulate that are under diplomatic status

Documents Required For Pets

  • Passport of the owner of the goods

Restricted/Dutiable Items

  • Duty is payable on the following types of liquor (Duty is paid at the rate expressed as a percentage of the value of the liquor):

Non-perishable food items and items in cans / other durable packaging are permitted to import in small amounts
